Artist's Comments After the requests, I decided to rerender 3D Tetris with appropriate colors. Tell me what you think.
Technical Details Made in Maya 7, rendered in mental ray. Modeling was a combination of polygons, subdivision surfaces and NURBS. It was lit with one single giant disk shaped mental ray area light. There was a white environment casting final gather rays into the scene for more ambient lighting. The shaders are all custom made, but not entirely fancy this time. The skin is similar to a standard Maya Ramp shader, and same goes with the rest of the shaders. All the stitches are manually modeled and individual, which was a real pain in the ASS, but it had to be done. Same goes with the internal organs. You can't really see them that well, but they are modeled.
Artist's Comments Thought I make a wallpaper for you all and hope some of you will use it. Not so bad for a start hope you all enjoy
Made in Maya 6.5, rendered in Mental Ray 3.4 standalone. Lit entirely with final gathering at 50,000 accuracy and 0.01 1.0 radii. Depth of field is the Physical_lens_dof node. The shaders on the egg shell and feet are Maya ramp shaders, and the shaders on the whisk and ground are both DGS shaders. I have to admit I'm quite happy with the egg shell shader. It may not look like it, but it's one of the most complicated shaders I've ever made. It has properly balanced fresnel'ish reflections, and the bump shader I made is exactly like the surface of a real egg, and there's real translucency involved (custom programmed).
Artist's Comments I think this is the most colourful render ive ever done 24 different fallof materials used *heart* Loco Rocos
So here it is, the image fate didn't want me to finish. As you may know, this is based off of delya's "I LOVE YOU" (with her permission of course). As you may also know, when I first tried to render this image earlier this month, after 8 days of waiting and about 3/4 way done, someone flipped the fuse to my room, making all that waiting pointless. I got so angry that I made "First Impression". After that, I optimized it a bit, reused the lighting map, used some really insanely simple yet genius tricks, and cut that down to 4 days instead of what I estimate would have been around 12 days render time otherwise. I have to admit this is one of my favorite works I've ever done. The colors just seem to work together really well, and it's goofy and has a good happy style to it.
I dare you to rip this image. In fact, I want you to. Do it to show yourself how pathetic you really are. Show it to all your friends, claim you made it. Spam it to hundreds of wallpaper websites without giving them my contact info. C'mon, you know you want to.
